BUILDING REGULATIONS AND SIPS

For over 30 years, Building Regulations have been concerned with the issues of heat loss through air leakage and through the fabric of buildings. As building standards and technology have improved, the expectations have risen. Today, we are concerned about Carbon Dioxide emissions, both in the actual construction and the manufacture of building products themselves.

SIPS EcoBuild are an environmentally responsible company, passionate about modern methods of construction that minimise the effects of our industry on our environment. All of our panels exceed today’s stringent Building Regulations and will easily achieve the future standards required in the Current and Proposed Revisions to Part L regarding Insulation and Air Tightness Standards for 2010 & 2013.

The outer skins of our SIPS panels are manufactured from sustainable, fast growing timber, grown specifically for industrial use. The growing trees absorb Carbon Dioxide from the atmosphere and are renewable, biodegradable and non-toxic. In comparison with concrete, timber uses 20% less energy to manufacture a product of the same strength, and is 15 times better as a thermal insulator.
